Plans for mid-semester & final semester projects

For my mid-semester project on the founding of Bucknell, I will be focusing on the Baptist backgrounds. I plan to utilize a resource in Reverend John Thornbury (former pastor of the Winfield Baptist Church in Lewisburg), and set up an interview with him over Zoom to discuss the roots and leaders of Bucknell (as he provided me in the email). I also will ask him for connections to any local (Lewisburg) historians/experts he knows of that are Baptist-related and try to set up an in-person interview with them. Along with these interviews, I can add research/multimedia from online databases and the Bertrand library database for Baptist backgrounds of Bucknell and the surrounding area.

For my final project, I will go in a different direction with a map of early campus. I plan to work with a tech specialist at Library & Information Technology, in the hopes that they will help me set up a Google map of the current and early campus setups. I intend to make it user-friendly and overall provide more information about what our campus was like. As far as resources, Bucknell University already has a website published on multiple historical maps of campus, so I can use this as my point of reference. The Bucknell University Archives will also be a good place to look because this is where the images came from on this website. Obviously I cannot set up an interview with someone who built campus 100 years ago, so I am still searching for people that I can glean more information from (maybe a general cartographer?).
