Buildings to focus on:

  • The very first map in 1865 showcased only three buildings: (1) Main Building, (2) Academy Building and (3) Female Institute Building. Include (4) Rooke Chapel, which was created later on. (original map here)
  1. Main Building (1865) → Old Main (1895, 1915) → Main College with central portion dedicated to Daniel Roberts, Roberts Hall (1945) → Roberts Hall and Main College (1965) → Roberts Hall (1985–present)
  2. Academy Building (1865) → Annex, aka Bucknell Cottage/East Hall/Bucknell Recitation Hall, was attached with William Bucknell’s funding (1895) → remodeled for use by the biology department (1915) → Bucknell Recitation Hall connected to Taylor Hall (1945) → Taylor Hall (1965–1985) → renovated and used for Freeman College of Management (1994) until their new space in Holmes Hall was completed 
  3.  Female Institute (1865) → Female Institute and BU cottage (1895) → New Cottage (1915) → Harris Hall (1925–present)
  4. Rooke Chapel (1964–present)
